• CRANE MODERNISATION
Modernization of cranes normally includes repairs and renewal of crane structures, mechanisms, and electrical systems. Crane refurbishment is required when crane performance has generally deteriorated and breakdowns are frequent. This can be the result of
• Lack of maintenance
• Crane aging due to prolonged wear and tear
• Inability to procure spares and spare parts cannibalization – rendering some cranes permanently inoperable
• Corrosion to steel structure due to poor coatings or harsh weather
Gallant Engineering is unique in being a turnkey single-source provider of the entire refurbishment process. We are able to handle all aspects from design and fabrication to performing all the necessary upgrades to crane structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
• CRANE DRIVE AND CONTROL RETROFIT
A cranes drive becomes obsolete after 15 to 20 years due to advances in power electronics and controls. Obsolete spare parts are also an issue. Retrofitting new drives will hence extend cranes lives, increase crane reliability and improve safety.
Gallant’s complete turnkey package includes design and engineering, drive system assembly, installation and commissioning. We strive for meticulous project planning and execution that minimizes downtime, so cranes can be returned to service after 14 to 30 days of on-site installation and commissioning. By increasing motor power, gearbox power and reducing gear ratio, we can obtain an end-benefit of speed increase to the main hoist and trolley of up to 25%
• CRANE ELECTRIFICATION
As fuel price escalates, energy costs arising from building of diesel are becoming a major expense of most terminals. Pollution from diesel combustion, carbon and toxic emission is fast becoming unacceptable in modern societies.
Recognizing these, Gallant Engineering provides the following services to enable energy savings and reduce carbon footprint :
• Quay cranes electrification
• RTG electrification
• Hybrid drive for RTGs
• Energy saving option for RTGs – engine shutdown during idling
• VARIOUS AD HOC CRANE ENHANCEMENTS
• Load sensing and safely
• Trim and list functions
• Lift installation for RTGs, RMGs and Quay cranes
• Cabin replacement and improvement with modern joystick controllers and ergonomic designs brake replacement
